IT REALLY WORKS
🌟 Happier-looking skin or your money back — even the postage 🌟
There is a good chance your bathroom already contains a few creams that promised a lot and did rather less.
Some lotions disappear into the skin within minutes. Others leave a sticky layer without making dry patches feel properly moisturised. Meanwhile, the same rough cheeks, little red folds or uncomfortable-looking areas keep returning.
BUM + BODY works differently from a light, water-based lotion. Its rich blend of tallow, calendula, rosehip, beeswax, zinc oxide and panthenol moisturises deeply and leaves a protective layer over the skin, helping it hold on to moisture for longer.
The balm softens rough patches, calms the look of redness and supports the skin barrier while it repairs.
Proper everyday support, not another tub of vague promises.
REAL PEOPLE. REAL STORIES. REALLY WORKS.

Honestly, we’re a big fan! Considering we’ve been through many creams, been referred to a dermatologist, this is the cream that has helped her neck the most!
Eczema-prone skin needs lasting moisture, not a complicated routine
Eczema-prone skin can lose moisture quickly. Even when a red-looking patch settles, the skin may still feel dry, rough or easily irritated.
A rich balm helps keep moisture where it belongs. Its concentrated oils and fats soften dry areas and leave a protective layer over vulnerable skin instead of disappearing shortly after application.
Consistent barrier care can help skin remain properly moisturised, calmer-looking and more comfortable between baths, changes and the many other things babies manage to rub across their faces.
Not sure what keeps setting the skin off, or when a flare needs medical advice? Our baby eczema guide covers both.
This is why many parents find that stronger creams give short-term relief but do not stop the cycle. Supporting the skin barrier consistently, with ingredients that nourish and protect rather than overwhelm, helps the skin stay calmer for longer and reduces how often flare-ups return.
CAREFULLY CHOSEN INGREDIENTS
Designed for dry, eczema-prone baby skin
BUM + BODY is made with grass-fed beef tallow, calendula oil, rosehip oil, beeswax, zinc oxide, panthenol, chamomile and a tiny amount of ylang ylang. Every ingredient has a job to do. Tallow creates the rich, deeply moisturising base; beeswax and zinc oxide help protect delicate skin from moisture and friction; calendula and chamomile soothe sore-looking areas; while rosehip oil and panthenol nourish, soften and support the skin barrier as it repairs. Nothing is there just to make the ingredient list look impressive.
Matylda Baby began because my daughter’s skin was red, sore and getting nowhere with the growing collection of creams beside the changing mat.
Emma, my best friend and a natural cosmetics expert, and I made batch after batch until we created a balm that helped Matylda’s skin heal.
We wanted something rich enough to make a genuine difference, but gentle enough to use on our own babies from birth. No token quantities of beautiful ingredients. No unnecessary fillers. And no product that sounded lovely on the label but did very little once you opened the tin.
BUM + BODY became our everyday all-rounder for eczema-prone skin, dry cheeks, red folds, rough patches and the nappy area.
It worked for Matylda. Other mums began seeing the difference too. That is why we still make it — and why we stand behind every order.
When your baby’s skin is already dry and sensitive, you don’t want something that drags across a rough patch, smells overpowering or leaves a thick, sticky coating.
BUM + BODY is firm in the tin but melts quickly between clean fingertips, turning into a smooth oil that glides gently over the skin.
It feels rich and protective without being suffocating. Because the formula is concentrated, you don’t need very much.
A little genuinely goes a long way. Which is useful, because babies are not famous for waiting patiently while you measure skincare.
step 1
warm
Warm a small amount between clean fingertips until it melts into a silky oil.
step 2
Apply generously during a flare-up
When the skin is flared up, particularly dry or inflamed-looking, begin with a generous layer. Smooth it gently over the area without rubbing hard.
Reapply a thinner layer at least three times a day until the skin has settled. Tying it to nappy changes can make this easier to remember.
The balm absorbs into the skin while leaving a protective barrier over the area.
step 3
Maintain once daily
Once the skin is calm, applying the balm once a day is usually enough for everyday moisture and barrier protection.
After baths is a particularly useful time to apply it, while the skin is clean and ready for moisture.
Use clean, dry hands each time to keep the balm fresh.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best cream for baby eczema-prone skin?
Look for a product that gives dry skin lasting moisture, protects vulnerable areas and is comfortable to apply regularly.
BUM + BODY is a rich, concentrated balm made for everyday care of sensitive, eczema-prone baby skin. It leaves dry areas properly moisturised and helps rough, red-looking patches feel calmer and more comfortable.
Unlike a light lotion, it leaves a protective layer over the skin, helping moisture stay where it belongs.
Is BUM + BODY a cream or a balm?
BUM + BODY is technically a balm rather than a conventional water-based cream.
Its concentrated oils and fats stay on very dry skin for longer than a light lotion. The balm feels firm in the tin but melts between your fingertips, making it easy to smooth over dry cheeks, folds and rough patches without heavy rubbing.
Can a natural baby eczema cream really work?
A natural formula can work beautifully when it is properly made and its ingredients are included in useful concentrations.
BUM + BODY combines tallow, calendula, rosehip, zinc oxide and panthenol because each performs a specific job. They provide lasting moisture, protect vulnerable areas and support the skin while it repairs.
We didn’t make a balm that relies on the word “natural” to do all the selling. We made one that works hard once it is on the skin.
Is BUM + BODY suitable for newborns?
Yes. BUM + BODY is suitable from birth and can be used as part of regular care for dry, sensitive or eczema-prone baby skin.
As with any new skincare product, patch test a small area first, particularly if your baby’s skin is highly reactive.
Can I use BUM + BODY on my baby’s face?
Yes. BUM + BODY can be used on dry cheeks, the chin and other dry or rough-looking areas of the face.
Warm the balm well between your fingertips and avoid getting it in your baby’s eyes or mouth.
Use it on dry, rough-looking and unbroken skin. Avoid areas that are actively weeping, oozing, bleeding or infected-looking.
How much BUM + BODY Balm should I use?
When the skin is flared up, begin with a generous layer so the area is properly moisturised and protected.
Reapply a thinner layer at least three times a day until the skin has settled. Once it is calm, once-daily application is usually enough for everyday care.
The balm is concentrated and absorbs well while leaving a protective barrier over the skin.
Will BUM + BODY sting red or sore-looking skin?
BUM + BODY was created for sensitive baby skin and melts before application, so it glides across dry areas without the pulling or drag of some thick creams.
Parents often choose it because other products have felt stingy or uncomfortable on already reactive skin.
Avoid applying it to skin that is infected, actively weeping or oozing.
What is the difference between BUM + BODY and ANGRY BITS Balm?
BUM + BODY is our gentler everyday all-rounder. It is the best place to start for dry cheeks, red folds, mild or moderate rough patches and generally eczema-prone skin.
ANGRY BITS is our more intensive balm for stubborn areas that look particularly angry, feel much rougher or keep returning despite regular everyday care. It also contains tamanu oil.
Choose BUM + BODY for regular face-and-body use. Consider ANGRY BITS when specific patches need stronger, targeted support.
Is BUM + BODY steroid-free, and can I use it with prescribed cream?
BUM + BODY is steroid-free.
It can be used as everyday moisturising and barrier care alongside a prescribed treatment plan, but it should not replace anything prescribed for your baby.
Follow your healthcare professional’s directions about how and when to apply each product.
When should I speak to a GP about my baby’s skin?
Ask for medical advice if the skin is weeping, oozing, crusting, bleeding, hot, swollen, rapidly spreading or looks infected, or if your baby seems unwell.
You should also speak to your GP, pharmacist or health visitor if the skin keeps worsening, is causing significant discomfort or is not responding to your baby’s existing care plan.
BUM + BODY provides rich everyday moisture and barrier protection. It isn’t a substitute for medical care when your baby needs it.
